Ruida Packing recently welcomed clients from Russia for an on-site machinery evaluation and technical consultation. The clients are a Russia-based nutraceutical and functional food manufacturer, specializing in high-density supplement tablets, including herbal extracts, mineral complexes, and fiber-based formulations. With the rising demand for compact, shelf-stable supplement formats in the Russian market, the client had been searching for a new tablet press that could reliably handle materials with weak flowability and difficult-to-form characteristics. These issues have been the main problems throughout the production line, causing inconsistent وزن الجهاز اللوحي and frequent tooling sticking.

شكل 1. Sales Executive Emmy discussing forming solutions with the Russian client during the on-site visit.
As Emmy introduced, our ZP-27D الصحافة قرص دوار is designed for high-output pharmaceutical, المغذيات, and food-grade tablet production. It accommodates a wide range of formulations, from free-flowing granules to challenging cohesive powders and herbal concentrates that tend to trap air or segregate during conventional compression. To solve the client’s concerns, Emmy proposed 3 practical solutions.
أولاً, ال Dual Compression System: Pre-Press + Main-Press for Air Evacuation and Density Uniformity. The most fundamental challenge with poorly flowing materials is trapped air. When powders with high fines content or irregular particle shapes enter the die cavity, air pockets become embedded, يؤدي إلى السد, التصفيح, أو اختلاف الوزن after compression. The ZP-27D addresses this at the mechanical level with a dual-compression architecture.
At the pre-press stage, the upper punch descends to apply a gentle force, which gradually evacuates entrapped air from the powder and aligns particles into a more uniform matrix. By the time the turret rotates to the main-press position, the material has already been densified and degassed, allowing the main compression roll to apply full force without the risk of sudden air release causing fractures or weight fluctuation. The maximum compression force of the ZP-27D reaches 120 كيلوغرام, providing ample overhead for high-density formulations.
Then the client asked about the enclosed type of feeder on the machine, ‘Does this help with improving material feeding?’ Emmy replied positively that the ZP-27D could equip either a forced feeder to improve material flow.

شكل 2. Enclosed-type forced feeder with rotary impeller for enhancing powder flow, and tablet press accuracy.
Compared to the normal grate feeder, the forced feeder uses a rotary impeller mechanism that actively propels and mixes the raw materials to improve flowability and prevent caking.
Ruida offers two feeder configurations:
- Open-type forced feeder: Suitable for free-flowing or moderately cohesive materials; provides visual access for quick cleaning and inspection.
- Enclosed-type forced feede: Designed for high-potency, easily oxidized, or highly cohesive materials that require a sealed environment. The closed version features a larger-capacity hopper that holds significantly more material than open-type designs.
أخيرا, the Russian client highlighted concerns about punch surface adhesion, a frequent problem with sticky herbal extracts or high-sugar blends. Residual material left after ejection can lead to surface defects and uneven pressing pressure, often necessitating machine stoppages for cleaning.
Emmy suggested that Ruida provides fully customizable punch and die sets to match different formulation requirements. For anti-sticking applications, the punches can be fitted with polytetrafluoroethylene (بتف) on punch surfaces; see the round and white surface punch on the second row of Figure 3. The PTFE layer reduces surface friction and adhesion, allowing sticky materials to release cleanly without residue build-up. This simple but effective customization extends tooling life, reduces cleaning downtime, and maintains surface finish quality across extended runs.

شكل 3. A selection of customizable punches for the ZP-27D, manufactured from GCR15 bearing steel for enhanced hardness and wear resistance, and meeting ISO standards.
Beyond PTFE-coated tooling, the ZP-27D offers flexibility to accommodate a wide range of tablet shapes and sizes:
- Maximum tablet diameter: 25 مم (suitable for large-format supplements and veterinary tablets)
- Maximum fill depth: 35 مم (allowing for high fill volumes even with low-bulk-density materials)
- Maximum tablet thickness: 17 مم (enabling thick, multilayered or sustained-release tablet designs)

شكل 4. Certified to CE and cGMP standards, the ZP-27D is well-suited for pharmaceutical and dietary supplement production. The machine features smooth stainless steel surfaces and quick-release hoppers and feeders for easy cleaning.
Through this on-site machinery evaluation, the Russian client was most impressed by the closed-type forced feeder and the customizable PTFE punch options, and gained a comprehensive understanding of how Ruida Packing’s ZP-27D rotary tablet press tackles forming challenges.
The dual-compression system also received favorable acknowledgment, particularly the insight that pre-compression already could solve their capping issues without requiring slower production speeds. The Russian team noted that they had previously considered slower single-station presses as the only solution, but the ZP-27D’s 90,000-tablets-per-hour capacity combined with dual compression proved that speed and quality are not mutually exclusive.
لرويدا التعبئة, the visit reaffirmed its commitment to delivering intelligent, مرن, and easy-to-maintain compression solutions for the nutraceutical, الغذاء الوظيفي, herbal extract, and pharmaceutical industries, turning formulation challenges into production advantages.
