Customized Powder Filling Line for Protein Powder Bottling

The powder filling line is designed to accurately fill various powders into bottles of different sizes with a filling accuracy of ±1%. The entire line includes:

Linear Auger Feeder

Considering the flow characteristics of protein powder, Owen recommended a linear screw feeder. This system uses rotation counts to control the powder feed, ensuring precise dispensing with an accuracy of ±1%.

Alternatively, customers can choose volumetric or weighing-type filling systems depending on the product and accuracy requirements, real-time monitoring, automatic rejection of inaccurate fills.

Since the customer uses two different bottle sizes, we customized the filling nozzles to minimize powder spillage onto the conveyor. This not only ensures compliance with food hygiene standards but also reduces material waste and shortens cleaning time, improving overall efficiency.

The client’s bottles have a unique shape — narrower at the top and wider at the bottom. A standard labeling machine would cause wrinkles or misalignment. To solve this, Owen recommended a positioning labeler, which precisely adjusts to each bottle’s contour.

Although slightly slower than common automatic labelers, this system guarantees flawless label application and enhances product presentation and brand image.

UV Coding Machine

To ensure traceability and compliance, the powder bottling filling packing line integrates a UV laser coding machine. It can print on both the bottle caps and bottoms without any consumables. The UV coding process offers high precision, permanence, and zero environmental waste, making it an eco-friendly solution.

Shrink Sleeve Labeling Machine

For added safety and tamper-evident protection, the final stage of the line features a shrink sleeve labeling machine. It seals the cap and bottle neck area, assuring consumers that each product is factory-sealed and untouched.

Performance Testing and On-Site Acceptance

After one month of manufacturing, Ruidapacking completed the production and conducted strict pre-shipment tests. Owen invited Simon to the factory for a factory acceptance test (FAT) with his two bottle sizes.

During the test, the line ran smoothly and consistently, meeting all key performance criteria. However, a few minor issues were identified — such as inconsistent scoop placement and the sleeve shrink labeler lacking a door interlock.

The engineering team immediately addressed these concerns through technical modifications. After adjustments, Simon expressed his satisfaction with the overall quality and performance of the equipment.
