Empty capsules consist of two parts: the cap and the body. The machine feeds the empty capsules into the system where they are oriented and separated. The cap and body of each capsule are separated, often using vacuum suction or mechanical pins.

Filling powders and granules, the machine uses a tamping pin that compresses the powder into a dosing disk before transferring it into the capsule body. Or using auger screw system measures and dispenses the material into the capsules.
